Job Fair Ireland

Job Fair - Cork and Dublin, Ireland,
November 7-12, 2011

From November 7 to 12, 2011, Atlantic Canadian employers are invited to attend a skilled worker promotion and attraction event in Ireland, to recruit prospective workers for difficult-to-fill positions.

This event will include a three day job fair, with a welcome reception in Cork and an evening reception in Dublin with the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland.

The job fair will focus on bringing together Atlantic Canadian employers with skilled workers who are looking to work and relocate to Canada’s East Coast.

This event is being sponsored by the ATLANTIC POPULATION TABLE, a cooperative venture between five governments: the Government of Canada, and the Provincial Governments of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador.

There is a full suite of opportunities for employers to participate in this event, including:

  • A three-day job fair exclusively for Atlantic employers and targeted to key sectors.
  • Support from provincial offices of immigration to assist you in following up with prospective employees, key individuals and agencies that can guide you through the process of hiring migrant workers.
  • A comprehensive, targeted advertising campaign to attract the right job-seekers.
  • A welcome reception in Cork for employers and government representatives.
  • An evening reception in Dublin hosted by the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland and the Canadian Embassy in Dublin.

This event will provide employers and other stakeholders with a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the process of relocating skilled workers to Atlantic Canada while providing skilled workers in Ireland with a first-hand picture of the employment opportunities that exist here in our region.

PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE - Space for this event is limited to companies in Atlantic Canada offering positions for skilled workers in the fields of health care services, aerospace and defense, information/communications technology, hospitality, trades, and oil and gas. Other sectors may be considered if employers can demonstrate difficulties in filling key positions. Please contact your respective province though the contact information below to discuss your circumstance.

ASSOCIATED COSTS - Most costs for the job fair including promotion of event, attraction of skilled workers, the shipment of materials between Cork and Dublin, transportation during job fair and related activities, and two receptions, will be covered by the Atlantic Population Table.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - Participating employers are responsible for their own travel expenses including airfare, accommodation, meals, shipping from Canada to Ireland (including return shipment), and personal transportation not related to the job fair.
